Abi Fawq Al-Shagarah (My Father Is Up the Tree) is a 1969 Egyptian musical drama directed by Hussein Kamal and produced by Abdel Halim Hafez. The film stars Abdel Halim Hafez as Adel, alongside Nadia Lutfi as Firdaus and Mervat Amin as Amaal. The story follows Adel, a 23-year-old engineering student who spends his summer vacation in Alexandria. After parting ways with his girlfriend Amaal, he becomes entangled with Firdaus, a cabaret dancer. As their relationship deepens, Adel is drawn into a life of excess and moral downfall, leading to his growing estrangement from family and friends.
