Alibaba and 40 Chor (1954) is a Bollywood fantasy-adventure film based on the famous Arabian Nights tale. Directed and produced by Homi Wadia under Basant Pictures, the film stars Mahipal, Shakila, S.N. Tripathi, B.M. Vyas, and Shree Bhagwan in key roles.

The story follows Alibaba, a poor woodcutter who stumbles upon the secret hideout of 40 ruthless thieves. He learns the magical phrase "Open Sesame," which reveals a hidden treasure cave filled with gold. However, the thieves' leader, Abu Hasan, soon discovers Alibaba’s secret and seeks to eliminate him. With the help of his clever and courageous slave girl, Marjina, Alibaba outsmarts the thieves and ultimately defeats them, restoring justice and prosperity.

The film’s music by Chitragupta featured hit songs sung by Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, and Geeta Dutt. A classic of Bollywood’s golden era, it was praised for its engaging story, memorable music, and impressive action.
