"Bazooband (1954) is a Hindi drama film directed by Ramanand Sagar and produced by Asha Biswas under the banner of Variety Productions. The film features Sulochana Chatterjee and Balraj Sahni in leading roles, supported by a cast that includes Roopmala, Anwar Hussain, Ramesh Kapoor, Baby Saroj, Om Prakash, Noreen Linford, and Noor Jehan.
The story centers around the moral conflict between virtue and vice, highlighting the consequences of indulgence in temptation, particularly in the form of ""the other woman"" and alcohol. Sanwere Seth (played by Om Prakash) and Seth Surajmal (played by Balraj Sahni) fall prey to these vices, leading to turmoil and the disintegration of their families. Amidst this crisis, Radha (Sulochana Chatterjee), a loving and devoted wife, stands firm in her efforts to protect her household. With unwavering faith and affection for her husband, she fights to restore harmony, symbolizing the triumph of purity and resilience over temptation and destruction.
The film's music, composed by Mohammed Shafi with lyrics by Prem Dhawan, was well received. Songs such as the title track ""Bazooband Khul Khul Jaye"" and ""Man Me Laagi Aag O Maalik Kya Tu Bhi Soya"", sung by Lata Mangeshkar, gained popularity upon the film's release."
