The portrait features Nawab Sir Mir Osman Ali Khan, the Nizam of Hyderabad, seated on a chair. He ruled the princely state of Hyderabad from 1911 to 1948 and later served as its constitutional president until 1956. During his time, he was regarded as one of the wealthiest men in the world. Hafiz Qamar-ud-Din & Sons, a prominent publishing house established in the early 20th century, printed their cards in London, incorporating Indian designs and languages such as Urdu and Arabic. Their paintings often depicted Islamic architectural landmarks, including the Kaaba, mosques, Medina, and the Taj Mahal. Many of their designs featured pictorial frames blending Eastern and Western motifs, including crescent moons and shaking hands.
