This calendar was created by William Spencer Bagdatopoulos. The Taj Mahal, a white marble mausoleum, serves as the focal point of the image. A long reflecting pool stretches toward the Taj, bordered by lush gardens and cypress trees. A couple is shown strolling along the pool's edge. The Taj Mahal stands majestically, with its iconic onion-shaped dome, minarets, and intricate architectural details. The Burmah Oil Company, founded in 1886 in Scotland, played a key role in developing the oil industry in South Asia. By the 1920s, it had partnered with Royal Dutch Shell to form Burmah-Shell Oil Storage and Distributing Company of India Limited. This partnership focused on importing, storing, and distributing petroleum products across India, establishing an extensive network of facilities, pipelines, storage tanks, and service stations.
