More Info
This poster features a smiling woman wearing a Cathay Pacific hat, symbolising the airline's signature warmth and hospitality. Behind her, the flags of various Asian countries highlight the airline’s expanding regional network.
Founded in 1946 in British Hong Kong by former Air Force pilots Roy Farrell and Sydney de Kantzow, the airline expanded steadily. By 1959, it had secured traffic rights to Japan and Australia, opening routes to Tokyo, Taipei, Darwin, and Sydney. In 1982, Cathay Pacific launched its first service to India, establishing a direct connection between Hong Kong and Bombay (now Mumbai).
