More Info
Dharam-Veer (1977) is a Hindi period action-drama directed by Manmohan Desai and produced by Subhash Desai. The film stars Dharmendra as Dharam Singh and Jeetendra as Veer Singh, alongside Zeenat Aman as Rajkumari Pallavi and Neetu Singh as Roopa. The supporting cast includes Pran as Jwala Singh, Indrani Mukherjee as Maharani Meenakshi, and Jeevan as the scheming Satpal Singh.
Set in a mythical kingdom, the story follows Queen Meenakshi's twin sons, who are separated at birth when her ambitious brother, Satpal Singh, learns of a prophecy foretelling his downfall at the hands of one of them. To protect the children, the loyal Jwala Singh rescues one, who grows up as Dharam (Dharmendra) under the care of a blacksmith, while the other, Veer (Jeetendra), is raised in the palace as the crown prince. Unaware of their true identities, the brothers form a strong friendship, but love, palace intrigues, and Satpal’s deception threaten their fate. When Jwala Singh finally reveals their lineage, Dharam and Veer unite to overthrow Satpal, reclaim their rightful place, and restore justice to the kingdom, finding love with Rajkumari Pallavi (Zeenat Aman) and Roopa (Neetu Singh) along the way.
The film's soundtrack, composed by Laxmikant–Pyarelal with lyrics by Anand Bakshi, features memorable tracks like "O Meri Mehbooba" (Mohammed Rafi) and "Hum Banjaaron Ki Baat Mat Poocho Ji" (Kishore Kumar & Lata Mangeshkar). A young Bobby Deol, Dharmendra’s son, makes a cameo as the childhood version of Dharam.
