John Sturgess (1839–1908) was a British artist, lithographer, and illustrator known for his sporting and equestrian paintings. He worked as an illustrator for the London News in 1875. He debuted his artwork titled A Miss Is as Good as a Mile at the Royal Society of British Artists in 1884. His equestrian paintings were used as posters by companies like Elliman’s Embrocation.
