More Info
This poster promotes Eveready batteries and flashlights, featuring a cheerful bell boy in a red uniform and cap holding two large Eveready flashlights. Three Eveready batteries are prominently displayed at the bottom, highlighting their extra-long life. The blue background enhances the visibility of the text and images.
Eveready, originally known as National Carbon (India) Ltd., began its operations in 1905 by importing dry cell batteries from the United States, which were sold in major Indian cities and primarily used in torches. In 1939, the company made a significant leap by establishing its first battery manufacturing plant in Kolkata, marking the start of its domestic production. In 1958, Eveready expanded further by setting up a torch manufacturing facility in Lucknow, which has since become one of the largest such facilities in Southeast Asia, cementing Eveready’s position as a leading brand in the battery and flashlight market.
