This calendar for Huntley & Palmer Biscuits features a central image of King George V in his coronation robes, surrounded by smaller portraits of the Governors and Lieutenant-Governors of the British Empire in India at the time.
Established in 1822, Huntley & Palmer became known as "The World's Famous Biscuits" for the next 150 years. Joseph Huntley, with the help of his son Thomas, opened a bakery in Reading, Berkshire, to sell biscuits and cakes. He was later joined by his cousin George Palmer, and their business reached its peak, trading in 137 countries. Popular products included Milk & Honey, Breakfast Biscuits, and Chocolate Oliver.
