More Info

"Maya Bazaar is a 1958 Hindi mythological film directed by Babubhai Mistry and produced by Homi Wadia under the Basant Pictures banner. The film stars Mahipal, Anita Guha, Raj Kumar, Ullhas, B. M. Vyas, Ramsingh, and Sulochana Chatterjee in key roles.

The story is inspired by episodes from the Indian epic Mahabharata, centering on the love between Abhimanyu, son of Arjuna, and Sasirekha (also known as Vatsala), daughter of Balarama. Although Sasirekha is originally promised to Abhimanyu, political schemes by the Kauravas lead to her being engaged to Lakshmana Kumara, Duryodhana’s son. To prevent this alliance, Lord Krishna and Ghatotkacha use their magical powers, setting off a series of enchanting and dramatic events to reunite the lovers.

The film's music, composed by Chitragupta with lyrics by G. S. Nepali and Indeevar, enhances the mythical atmosphere. A standout track is ""Har Phool Mein Masti Hai"", sung by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi."
