The calendar shows Goddess Lakshmi on a lotus, holding a lotus in both hands, with an Abhaya mudra, while Lord Ganesha, also in Abhaya mudra, sits on a throne. A pond and temple are in the background, and the company logo is at the bottom center.
established in 1923. in Sivakasi is part of the larger history of the match industry in the region. Sivakasi, often referred to as the “Little Japan of India,” became a hub for match production in the early 20th century. The industry was pioneered by two enterprising individuals, A. Shanmuga Nadar and A. Ayya Nadar, who were inspired by a small Japanese match factory they encountered during a business trip to Calcutta.
