The poster depicts a young woman sewing with a Phoenix sewing machine. Below the image is the name Jeetmal Mahalchand, Banker and Merchant, Churu, Rajputana, the distributor of Phoenix Sewing Machines.

Phoenix was introduced in 1918 by Baer & Rempel, a German Firm founded in 1865. In 1958, Anker Werke took over, forming Anker-Phoenix, but production ended in 1968 due to declining demand.
