Archibald Herman Müller (1878–1960), an artist of German-Indian parentage, gained recognition for his realistic paintings and notable impact on early 20th-century Indian art. Born in Cochin, Kerala, he studied at the Madras School of Art, where he earned a gold medal, and later won another from the Bombay Art Society in 1911. Müller traveled widely across India, including Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and the Himalayas, enjoying royal patronage. His works encompassed landscapes, portraits, court scenes, historical themes, and vivid portrayals of Hindu epics such as the Ramayana and Mahabharata. He is renowned for merging Indian cultural stories with European artistic styles.
