Shri Krishna Leela is a 1971 Hindi mythological film directed and produced by Homi Wadia under the banner of Basant Pictures. The screenplay was written by Bharat Vyas, while the story and dialogues were penned by S. N. Tripathi, who also composed the film’s music. The film portrays the divine journey of Lord Krishna, beginning with his miraculous birth and playful childhood in Gokul, followed by his deep spiritual bond with Radha and the gopis, representing love and devotion. As the narrative unfolds, Krishna fulfills his divine purpose by confronting and ultimately defeating his tyrannical uncle, King Kansa, thereby liberating his parents and fulfilling the prophecy of his birth. Blending elements of devotion, drama, and miracles, the film beautifully captures Krishna’s transformation from a mischievous child to a divine protector and savior.
