This lithograph, titled "Sadashivrao Peshwa," portrays Sadashivrao Bhau (1730–1761), a prominent figure in the Maratha Empire during the 18th century. In the artwork, he is depicted in regal attire, riding a horse through a hilly landscape, accompanied by two attendants walking beside him, each armed with swords. Sadashivrao Bhau, the cousin of Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao (Nana Saheb), served as the Commander-in-Chief of the Maratha forces during the Third Battle of Panipat in 1761. His leadership was pivotal during this significant confrontation, which aimed to halt the advance of Ahmad Shah Abdali into Indian territory. Despite the eventual Maratha defeat, Sadashivrao Bhau's dedication and valor have been commemorated in various historical records and artworks.
