K. Madhavan (1907–1979) was an Indian painter based in Trivandrum. He was known for painting posters, calendars, lithographs, and offsets. He shifted to Madras in 1929 and worked at a theatre as a backdrop painter. Later, his illustrations were published in Tamil weekly and bimonthly magazines. He worked for the Gemini Studio in the 1940s. He earned the title Oviya Mannar (King of Banners) from C.N. Annadurai. He made commercial posters and calendars for companies like T.A.S. Rathnam Snuff, Burmah-Shell, and others.

This poster created by K. Madhvan, illustrates Lord Kartikeya seated peacefully on a rock. He holds a shaft in his right hand, adorned with a garland, and wears a yellow dhoti, radiating calm and serenity. The background is a lush, detailed landscape, featuring mountains, abundant greenery, and a river with blooming lotus flowers, all emblematic of Indian miniature art. At the bottom right of the lithograph, his divine vehicle, a peacock, is positioned. Three product labels from the company are featured at the bottom left, while the company's trademark is prominently placed at the upper right corner of the poster.
