More Info
The poster depicts Taxila, an ancient UNESCO World Heritage site in Punjab near Islamabad. Once a centre of Buddhist learning and Gandhara art. It features excavated treasures like Buddha's head, votive stupas, and sculptures, highlighting Pakistan's rich heritage and religious tourism. In the early 1960s, tourism was managed by the Bureau of Tourism under the Ministry of Commerce and Transport. Later moved to the Civil Aviation Authority in 1964, and ultimately was replaced by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) in 1970.
