This calendar, printed by Shivraj Fine Arts, depicts Shantanu sitting on a log, captivated by Matsyagandha standing in the river. Enchanted by her divine fragrance, a gift from Sage Parasara, Shantanu falls in love and desires to marry her. She is dressed in revealing attire, and he is shown gently touching her shoulder. The company’s logo, featuring an anchor, appears at the bottom and corners of the calendar.
Thakur Savadekar & Co. Pvt. Ltd., originally founded as N.B. Thakur in 1916 by Shri Govindrao Beniram Thakur, Shri Narayan Beniram Thakur, and Shri Kisanrao Beniram Savadekar, was a pioneer in the beedi manufacturing industry. The founders initially studied Tendu leaf forests to understand the beedi-making process. In 1930, the company rebranded as Thakur Savadekar & Co. and grew to become a leading name in the industry. Today, the company is renowned for its "Anchor Brand Beedis," offering a wide range of tobacco products.
