More Info

The Gold Medal is a Hindi-language spy thriller directed by Ravikant Nagaich and produced by Sham Behl under the Time Films banner. The film stars Jeetendra as Gopal, a determined officer, alongside Rakhee Gulzar in a dual role as Shobha/Dimple and Shatrughan Sinha as Shatrughan. The film also features a special appearance by Dharmendra, who plays labor leader Acharya. The music for the film was composed by the celebrated duo Shankar-Jaikishan.

The story revolves around Gopal, an officer investigating a powerful criminal organization connected to the assassination of labor leader Acharya. However, during his mission, he is framed for the murder of nightclub dancer Bindu, forcing him to go undercover. Determined to clear his name, Gopal infiltrates the gang, uncovering a larger conspiracy while working to expose the elusive mastermind behind the illegal operations.

Although the film began production in 1969, it encountered multiple delays and was ultimately released in 1984. Despite its prolonged development, The Gold Medal delivers a thrilling mix of espionage, action, and drama, staying true to the hallmarks of the spy genre.
