Mu. Ramalingam, also known as Ramalinagkam, was a painter and student of C. Kondiah Raju, like T.S. Subbiah. He joined the gurukul of C. Kondiah Raju at the age of 14. He was known for paintings of Hindu deities, produced as offsets and posters. He started painting for Ambal Coffee in 1956 and also worked for companies like Mettur Chemical of Sivakasi. In the early 1970s, he established his art studios, Chitralayam and Lakshmi Pictures.
