T.S. Subbiah was born in Tirunelveli, a city in Tamil Nadu. He was a student of Kondiah Raju. He initially drew and painted theatre backdrops such as Dasavatharam, Krishna Leela, and “Gnanasundari”. He continued his art education under Kondiah Raju at Devi Studios. He was a highly appreciated artist both as a backdrop and a printmaking artist.

The poster titled Rise of Cauvery depicts Lord Ganesha standing majestically, adorned with a crown and jewellery, blessing devotees. Beside him, Sage Agastya, is shown with folded hands, and Goddess Kaveri kneels in devotion. In the upper right corner, an illustration of the legend depicts Ganesh, in the form of a crow, tipping Agastya's kamandalu, releasing Kaveri, who flows as the sacred river, bringing prosperity to the southern land.
The Mettur Chemical Industry was established on 22 November 1936 and has been a key player in metal and chemical manufacturing for over 88 years.
