Zehreela Insaan (1974) is a Bollywood romantic drama directed by Puttanna Kanagal, starring Rishi Kapoor, Moushumi Chatterjee, and Neetu Singh, with Pran, Nirupa Roy, and Iftekhar in supporting roles. A remake of the Kannada film Naagarahaavu (1972), the movie explores themes of love, anger, and societal judgment.

The story follows Arjun Singh, a rebellious young man with a short temper who struggles to find acceptance in a society that misunderstands him. Despite his aggressive nature, he is kind-hearted, and his only source of guidance is his school teacher, Masterji, who sees his true potential. Arjun falls in love with Aarti (Moushumi Chatterjee), but their relationship is opposed due to his troubled past. Heartbroken, he finds comfort in Margaret (Neetu Singh), who tries to heal his wounds. However, fate takes a tragic turn, leading to an emotional climax.

Though the film didn’t perform well at the box office, it is remembered for its soulful music by R.D. Burman, particularly the timeless song “O Hansini”, sung by Kishore Kumar, which remains a classic.
